Use the Instrument Results Edit submodule in the Microbiology Results Entry module to edit test results transmitted from automated instruments that are interfaced directly to the CyberLAB system.
The submodule allows you to process results for a range of Sample IDs. The system displays the Sample ID with the lowest number first and then follows with the next higher number. A new result displays as work on the previous Sample ID is released.

There are several configurational options that specifically relate to the functions and features within the Microbiology Instrument Results Edit submodule.
A facility selects options when the CyberLAB system is implemented and if a process change requires an adjustment in function.
Some of these options can be changed by a manager or supervisor of your facility.
Caution: A change to one option can affect other settings or operations in the application. Before a manager or supervisor changes the setting of an option, it is recommended that you consider the effect of that change. If you have any questions, contact the client support representative.
Other options marked with an asterisk (*) can only be changed by a CyberLAB implementation specialist or client support representative.
The options are arranged by function and require a Yes or No setting.
Micro Test Status
Enable Test Dictionary Classification
(Option location: File Maintenance/General System Parameters/Features.)
Auto Micro
Note: If the Auto Micro drop-down list is set to Yes for a micro test in the Test Dictionary, the micro test is performed on an analyzer. Only one micro test with this designation can be placed on a Sample ID.
For example, if a blood culture is designated in the Test Dictionary as Yes for Auto Micro, other micro tests on the sample cannot have that designation.
(Option location: File Maintenance/Test Dictionary Maintenance/Test Maintenance/Single Test.)
Edit micro test results when interfaced with an instrument *
Instrument result editing as preliminary
(Option location: File Maintenance/Micro Parameter Maintenance/Microbiology Default Parameters.)
Note: If Yes, you can edit. If No, the status is final, but you can still look at the results. There is no autorelease of these results.
Instrument results default as final
(Option location: File Maintenance/Micro Parameter Maintenance/Microbiology Default Parameters.)
Note: If Yes, the status is final, but you can still look at the results. There is no autorelease of these results.
Call Report
Call Report drop-down list: All Abnormal Values, Panic/Critical Only, or Not Used.
Note: The Not Used selection turns off the entire Call Report feature. When you select All Abnormals or Panic/Critical Only, the Call Report feature is activated.
(Option location: File Maintenance/General System Parameters/Operational Parameters.)
Prompt when test result changed *
Note: Prompt When Result Changed must be set to Yes, if the automatic Call Report dialog box is to display for the change activity.
Set up Call organism to prompt when organism defined as a Call organism is entered or if any organism is changed.
(Option location: File Maintenance/Microbiology Parameter Maintenance/Organism No Growth Codes/Microbiology Organism Code Maintenance.)
Select a prompt for the Call Report Comments dialog box: 1) Automatically prompt when a result changes or a Call organism is entered or any organism is changed, 2) Allow manual selection at any time, or 3) None. *
Note: This option controls the Call Report Comments dialog box. The None selection turns off the dialog box. When you select the Automatic Prompt or the Manual function, the dialog box is activated.
For Result Change
An automatic prompt occurs when a result changes if:
-- The Call Report feature is active.
-- Prompt When Result Changed is active.
-- The automatic prompt is selected.
For Organism
An automatic prompt occurs when an organism is entered or changed if:
-- The Call Report is active.
-- Selected organism is a Call organism.
-- The automatic prompt is selected.
Manual Call Report
You can double-click the red telephone icon at any time to display the Call Report Comments dialog box.
Do Not Call

Under each result that displays on the Result Edit screen, there is a row of buttons that allows you to edit different elements of the result data. These buttons provide access to a specific function in the Specimen Workup/Edit submodule.
The buttons to edit results are:
Hold button
Allows you to place results on hold to edit or review later.
Edit button
Displays the Media/Smear Results Tab screen.
Organism button
Displays the Workup List Tab screen, or displays the Specimen Workup or Abbreviated Workup screen when organisms are found.
Sensitivities button
Displays the Sensitivities Entry screen.
Delete button
Allows results to be erased. Deleted results are not retained historically within the sample's record because they have not been part of the patient's medical record.
