Changed Terms

 

 

Purpose

Terms have been changed, and these changes are reflected in the online documentation. The process to change the terms on the screens began in the CyberLAB 7.0 system and is scheduled for completion on the 7.2 screens.

Abnormal

 

There are two categories of abnormal test results:

 

  • Low/High (L and H flags)
    A test result between the normal range and the panic critical values.

  • Panic/Critical (VL and VH flags)
    A test result that is beyond the panic/critical value. This value was formerly known as Out-of-Range.

 

All Abnormals

 

Refers to the two value tiers of abnormal results: Low/High and Panic/Critical.

 

Autorelease

 

An option in Multichannel Result Editing that enables a facility to automatically release all samples with normal test results, post them for immediate viewing, and send them to the patient files without human intervention.

 

Autotransmit

 

To electronically transmit a clinical report. Formerly known as AutoDial.

 

Client

 

Replaces the terms Account ID and Account Name in the CyberLAB system. Refers to the health care providers who are listed in a facility's Client (Doctor) Master file.

 

Provider replaces the word, client, in CyberRAD.

 

Comment

 

Formerly known as a message or canned message.

 

Comment Code

 

A list of predefined comments that can be used to describe the condition of the specimen, collection directions, test results, or patient instructions. Comment codes are predefined by your facility. Formerly, message code.

 

Comment Master

 

Formerly known as Message Master.

 

 

Demography

 

A profile of a patient that includes basic information, such as name, address, telephone, date of birth, doctor, and insurance provider. Formerly known as Demographics.

 

Doctor

 

Doctor replaces use of the word, physician.

 

Message

 

Also known as system message. A notice generated by the CyberLAB system that displays at the bottom of the screen or in a dialog box.

 

Panic/Critical

 

Formerly known as an Out-of-Range test value.

 

Sample ID

 

The identification of the order that contains the tests requested by the doctor.

 

Selection List

 

A list that displays to allow a user to make a selection. Formerly known as a pick list.

 

Specimen

 

The specimen or sample collected from the patient to perform the test ordered by the doctor.

 

Standard Test

 

In CyberLAB 6.0, this test type is referred to as blank. In CyberLAB 7.0, the blank test type in the Test Dictionary is referred to as Standard.

 

The other test types in the 7.0 Test Dictionary are: culture, urine culture, differential, urinalysis, alternate, drug test, therapeutic drug, and calculated.

 

Test Code

 

A four-digit test code that your facility assigns to a test in the Test Dictionary. Formerly known as Test or Test Number.

 

Test Group

 

The combination of a test code and a single, arbitrarily assigned alphanumeric character, known as a subgroup. Test groups are created to specify how results are displayed for editing.

 

Visit ID

 

A code assigned to an inpatient and outpatient at a facility. Visit ID replaces chart number, admit ID, and admission number in the CyberLAB system.
