Report Maintenance: Report Parameter Maintenance: Alpha Result Conversion

Definition     Procedures

Purpose

Use the Alpha Result Conversion screen to expand the five-character alphanumeric result for alpha tests into an 11-character word when the result is viewed in Patient Inquiry or printed in a clinical report.

The Alpha Result Conversion screens are located in Interim and Cumulative reports.

The actual result that is stored in the CyberLAB system is the 5-character result, not the 11-character result. The 5-character result is the one that should be used for any SQL searches or RRG (Result Response Generator)  comparisons.

Erroneous Result Check Setting

In the File Maintenance module, there is a label, Erroneous Result Check for Alpha Results, that is located on the Features Tab of the General System Parameters submodule.

Important: If the Erroneous Result Check for Alpha Results label is set to Yes, any Alpha result that is not defined in the Alpha Result Conversion table is flagged as erroneous.
